Wow! the Victorian villa, built in 1873, is a charming retreat just a short walk from the town center. the views of Oban Bay from the rooms are simply breathtaking. The breakfast spread was fantastic, with a mix of continental and cooked options. I particularly enjoyed the Scottish breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, and black pudding. The location was perfect for exploring the Gulf of Corryvreckan, known for its whirlpool, as well as taking boat trips to see sea birds, dolphins, whales. the knowledgeable guide at the Oban Distillery tour was a wealth of information. Overall, Hawthornbank Guest House provided a perfect blend of classic charm and contemporary luxuries. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Oban.
